So this website is for anyone who wants to think about life, death, what comes next, what went before and who God is - if there is a God; for those who want to go beyond the limitations of much conventional religious thought; for those who sense that there is more than that which meets the eye; for those whose life has perhaps been touched by sorrow, loss, pain or trauma; for those for whom traditional concepts of heaven, hell and punishment do not ring true; for those who cannot believe in a God of wrath and judgement; for those who are searching for something of the truth - whatever that is.
Probably those from a Christian background or from a country where Christianity is a prominent religion will identify most with many of my thoughts and will recognise the bible quotations, whilst those from a Buddhist background may already understand much of my 'new' thinking. Personally I no longer feel a need to adhere to any belief system, along with its dogma and rituals.
I update the site from time to time when I feel I have something new to say, or when I think I can say it better. You can see which pages have been updated most recently at the top of this homepage. Some pages still do not have much on them and there are other pages which I plan to add when I have time. I could have waited until I had 'finished' all of them - but the process may continue ad infinitum, so at what point would I publish the site? I have decided that there is enough here that I am happy with to go ahead. I will put the date that the site was last updated each time, so that you can see when new or revised material has been included.
I have also created a blog: Guy's Spirit Blog, where I share some extra thoughts on life, death, the universe and everything, and where you can also make comments about anything on this site or the blog.
This website project was begun on Tuesday 20th April, 2016 and first published on 13th October, 2016. It has been written in between all my other activities and has taken far longer and is much larger than I originally anticipated. Some of the subjects overlap, so you may find the same information on more than one page. There are many, many websites dedicated to similar subjects, but I believe I have been encouraged to publish my own thoughts and views by friends and family in spirit. The result will be imperfect, but I will try my best.
Over the years I have realised that the main problem with updating this site is that my beliefs have changed in emphasis since I started it. At first I was largely hanging on to the idea about a God of some sort, although not the traditional one. Now I'm more inclined to the collective consciousness and 'All That Is' concepts - see my What is God page. Not all of my beliefs from before my son died have changed. My core values remain very similar and the way I act outwardly has only subtly changed, though some friends have said that they have really noticed it. I find it easier to accept myself as I am and others who are different from me; I try not to judge people; I am more open to new ideas, to radical new thoughts about humanity, life and 'God'. I am more careful about value judgements, prefering to see all human activities as experience to benefit the whole, rather than some being 'better' than others.
I am more at peace with everything than I was, despite not being able to see, hear and hug my son. But I have not lost him! If you loose something, you don't know where it is or if you will ever find it again. But it is more like he is living on the other side of the world and there are no telephones or even letters, but people who travel to and from where he lives relay messages and tell me a bit about him from time to time. And I know he is happy, so I should be happy - as much as I can be.
I hope you will find something here which resonates of sincerity and truth, something which sparks a desire to learn, to find for yourself what only you can find - your own pathway. If I can do that for just one person, this site has fulfilled its purpose. The views expressed here may change subtly from time to time as my knowledge and insights develop, as you can already see on the page about God. Sometimes I ask as many questions as I suggest answers. We are all on a journey, and none of us should stay still since none of us will have all the answers whilst we are here on the earth. In fact, neither have most of the spirits who contact us, for when we die, we do not suddenly have all the answers. We, and they, still have much to learn, and so when I receive messages of wisdom from the spirit world, I still question it, since they may be only one or two steps in advance of us. But often those one or two steps are worth a lot!
So that is why I sometimes present two different 'opinions' from the spirit world. This will be seen by some as evidence that the whole thing is nonsense! But (a) there are only a few points of disagreement from spirits, and (b) see the point I made in the paragraph above. Also communication between the two worlds is not easy - otherwise we would all be doing it. But there are a vast amount of reports which do totally agree, and these are often about the main things that people want to know: our existence after death, connections with loved ones and the nature of 'heaven'.
Most, if not all, of this website is based on information gleaned from sources such as
You might ask "Why do you believe all this stuff?" Experience transcends belief. The personal experiences are the most important - because I would not have believed any of this if I hadn't had these experiences myself after losing a loved one. My traditional and long-held Christian beliefs would not have been challenged so much had it not been for the enormity of my grief and my subsequent amazement at the evidence that was presented to me. And it was to a large extent that the 'worry' in the back of my mind that some Christian beliefs such as "if you aren't born again in Jesus you will go to hell" might be true, that I sought proof or otherwise of this. What I found was that this doctrine is complete nonsense! And what's more, my new beliefs make so much more sense. (Non-Christians may think I was crazy to believe in that stuff anyway! lol)
I'm not rejecting all the Christian teaching of peace, love, service to others, and of course a belief in the afterlife - though Christians' ideas about that vary considerably! I'm just saying that I no longer believe much of the dogma, and, rather like an ex-smoker who can't bear cigarette smoke, some of the 'old' teachings really annoy me now. Sometimes it's not what is said but what is implied - like "those who have died in Christ will live for ever" - implying that those who did not believe will not live after death! And it is because of this in particular that some of what I say on the this website may offend or upset people from the Christian tradition. I'm sad, but not sorry, if that is your experience here, because I don't want anybody to be trapped by this dogma, as I was for most of my life.
I cannot provide the proof for you: all I can do is to tell you what I believe through this experience and leave it to you to make up your mind. In Christian teaching there is a sin called 'the sin against the Holy Spirit', which is supposed to be the only unforgivable sin. Well, though I now believe that nothing is unforgiveable, to reject what I have been shown and go back to the old beliefs would be as if to commit this 'sin'. I say this to show the strength of my conviction.
I have created this website because I know what I have received and I want other people to know the comfort, encouragement and actual excitement that I and my family have been given. My loved ones are 'alive' and well. Just in another 'dimension' - the spirit world - to which we all will go, sooner or later, and where we all came from before being incarnate on earth. There is nothing to fear about dying. It is worse to be born than to die.
If you are a 'sensitive' person (ie. you get feelings that others may be with you even though you cannot see them, or you find crowds difficult because you pick up other people's thoughts and emotions) you might consider finding a group (circle), probably from a Spiritualist church, that understands and knows how to channel your gifts. If you are interested in contacting spirit, make sure you always protect yourself by sincerely asking and wishing that anything you do and experience will be in love, truth and for your highest good. Call it a prayer if you like. Many Spiritualists warn that just as in this physical world there are people who like to harm others, so there are in the spirit world. This is because when we die we are still the same person with the same likes, dislikes, attitudes and way of thinking at least for a while until we choose to learn more. The warning is not try any occult practices such as the Ouija board, where a group of people with differing aims, and, perhaps varied spiritual development, have no real control over which spirits are brought through. What you can safely do by yourself is meditate. All mediums say that meditation is key. There are lots of books and websites that will guide you with this.
Although I agree that one should always be careful, personally I do not fear any 'negative energy', because all my experience in this field has been of love and support. Like attracts like, so if you are a person of genuine love then you have nothing to fear. We can all have fun from time to time with 'shoot-em-up' computer games and horror movies, but that doesn't usually mean we like real violence and 'dark stuff'. We do well to remember that contacting the 'dead' is not a game, and we should always take it seriously. I am not in favour of these hyped, sensationalised TV ghost-hunting programmes. They generally are in it just for the fun and they don't really seem to care about the spirits/ghosts that they find - if they are are genuine anyway! These 'ghosts' may be poor earth-bound people who need help passing over properly, not being treated like some museum phenomenon to be experimented upon.
Lastly, I would like to point out that I have no affiliation with the authors of any of the books or websites mentioned or linked to on this site and do not receive any income from them. This site has no adverts and does not generate any income either. The links are there usually because I have been helped and educated by reading them, and I include them hopefully for your benefit also. Some are just links to define terms. I can't promise that everything you read from those links will be helpful, as I have not exhaustedly read them all. So be thoughtful and read with a critical eye, looking for the truth but being prepared to find things that don't seem right. Sift the information carefully, according to your instincts. Your instincts may change over time, as mine have, but always be true to yourself and don't try to take on board things that seem wrong to you.
Thank you for your interest in my website, and may your journey be full of discovery and bring you inner peace, no matter what befalls you in this life. I now recommend that you read the page About Me, for further understanding, before you read any of the other pages on the site. Then feel free to pick a subject that interests you.
